Letting go, releasing…

I realised that this phase of my researcher introspection cycle – centred on letting go, and releasing, might also be about letting go of unproductive relationships and attachments. I’m taking this in the very literal sense today, and organising a little spring cleaning in the form of Email Bankruptcy…
It’s not the first time I’ve had to declare email bankruptcy – the image below if from December 2017. But here we are again – clearly I wasn’t disciplined enough and find myself repeating the exercise! This time I outright deleted about 14000 emails. I think I probably archived a further 3000. My new inbox with Portsmouth Uni is going to need the same treatment I think. I currently have a mere 21 unread emails over the past week or so – that I have no intention of reading. My task is to have the discipline to wade through new email as it comes in, and to unsubscribe myself from mailing lists, or ask to be removed.
Discipline = freedom!
